BRM News

Greetings BRM™ Users:

In this issue we will review the 2007 Vision Conference and discuss important software updates.
Vision Conference ......................

On September 20 - 21, 2007, the annual Vision Conference took place. This is the second year we’ve held the conference at the Hard Rock Hotel. The turnout was excellent, the meeting stimulating, and we shared a fine meal at Chicago’s renowned House of Blues! We covered a wide range of topics, with enthusiastic user participation.

We are currently planning next year's conference. We will be posting provide further details as they are made available.

As always, with your input, we continue to develop new features for the BRMEdge™ system.

The following is a brief outline of the events at this year’s conference:

BSB Global Statement - An Update
Our Chairman, Steve Weiland, made opening remarks to the BRM™ group. He discussed how BSB statements are beginning to be produced by several major global banks--an exciting development for multinational corporations!

Budgeting; Why User Groups Matter

Dan Gill, CCM, our Director of Customer Support & Training, addressed the group with a follow-up to last year's Vision Conference:
  • In 2006, a group of users indicated their need for a budgeting tool. Working with this group, WFG developed a budgeting update that met the group’s needs.
  • By the beginning of 2007, budgeting was available to BRMEdge™ users.
To honor the group of users that provided input for the budgeting update, WFG held a cocktail party at Chicago’s La Strada restaurant. The party took place just prior to this year’s Vision conference.

Guest Speaker: Craig Jeffery ................
Craig Craig Jeffery, Strategic Treasurer, addressed the ever-present financial control concerns that most organizations face today. Effective approaches were outlined to assist users with their compliance issues.

BRM User Panel
One of the main benefits of attending Vision is the interaction with other users. A lively discussion was held covering topics of interest to users. Just a few of the topics discussed included:
  • Which services to eliminate to reduce bank fees
  • The best way to handle tiered pricing
  • Varying AFP codes from bank to bank
For BRMEdge™, the next major enhancement is a web-based reporting tool linked directly to the BRMEdge™ database. We currently anticipate this feature will be available by the end of 2008.

One user suggested that time tracking be added to Case Manager:
  • Multiple errors can take time to resolve--and time is money!
  • This information can be added to a bank's report card.
  • Furthermore, a "rating" tab could be added to the bank. This would allow anyone to go in and log comments.
  • A reminder could also be added, indicating a future bank review.
Guest Speaker: Fran DiBacco ................
Fran DiBacco Fran DiBacco, F.E. DiBacco, Inc., showed BRM™ users the hidden costs involved in navigating bank RFPs.

Roundtable Discussions
Discussion topics included:
  • Case Manager dynamics
  • New reporting options
  • Converting to BRMEdge
  • Questions and concerns
  • BAWeb™ demo
