CAA™ Release 3.03 News: ..................

New Statement Design Templates

Release 3.03 of the Weiland Financial Group’s CAA System supports statement design in a graphical format. Users can now design customer statements utilizing Microsoft© Word document templates and editing features. Templates can then be used to generate standardized customer statements. This update allows a user to be as creative as they like by taking advantage of the flexible formatting options available in MS Word, which include font selection, custom graphics, (e.g., company logo), borders, shading and color.

A sample statement header:

Using MS Word, a paragraph border can be drawn around sections of the statement data such as shown below:

Another great feature for section formatting is green bar style formatting. The following example shows the effect of applying this style attribute to the statement service detail portion of the statement (shade color is user-defined):

Release 3.04 News ......................

WFG is putting the finishing touches on CAA version 3.04, scheduled for release 4-01-2007. This new release has many system improvements, which include the handling of Service Price Exception records. CAA has been modified to separate the functionality of recurring fees from price exceptions. With the updated system, special pricing (and effective dates) can be established apart from the fact that a service represents a recurring service charge.

The most significant change one will notice in version 3.04 of CAA is the Statement Re-Analysis feature. The system will now allow statements to be changed, recalculated, and re-printed for analysis periods that have already been closed. Business rule limitations dictate what changes can be made, but the most common needs for change are covered: incorrect volumes, service exception pricing not established in time, inaccurate earnings rate for account, etc. When changes must be made, the brand-new Statement Re-Analysis feature will provide the user with a tool to revise and reissue customer statements.

Release 2.X News ......................

For CAA clients using release 2.X and older, WFG has now made it possible to install the 3.X system parallel to the 2.X system. This feature will facilitate the testing and implementation of the new 3.X release. Converting from 2.X to 3.X is a major upgrade for CAA, and as such, a conversion program has been developed to convert existing customer databases to the 3.X version of CAA.

For upgrade fees and conversion scheduling, please email Don Enright, or call 847.735.0577 for more information.

Vision Conference ......................

CAA Users will gather for the 2007 Vision Conference on Chicago's Magnificent Mile September 20-21. We are currently working out the details and topics, but Thursday's event will be a terrific dinner at the House of Blues! Stay tuned for more information...

Daylight Savings .......................

WFG's Customer Support has fielded several calls regarding the changes to Daylight Saving Time (DST). Callers are concerned about how our systems will respond. Weiland systems will be affected by the DST time change as our software is not dependent upon a time-stamp, but operates on a monthly basis. CAA calculates what day it is, and proceeds as such. IT specialists will have concerns, however. More information can be found at Information Week's website.
