Greetings CAA™ Clients:
Our twelfth annual Vision Conference was a success! Here are the highlights from the conference,
as well as CAA updates.
|
CAA™ User Group at Annual
Vision Conference
......
 |
The staff at WFG recently returned from the 2008 CAA™ User Conference, and
by all accounts, the conference was the best ever. In attendance were 30 experienced, commercial billing professionals, representing 20 different banks.
After reviewing the post-conference surveys, attendees expressed a special appreciation for the opportunity to network,
and having the opportunity to discuss
common problems and propose solutions. The attendees saw the new CAA™ features, and features yet to be released.
|
|
Charles McNeilly of UMPQUA Bank presented a case study about the implementation of their new analysis system, and the unique way
their bank (or Smile Center) handles customers. The Umpqua marketing model is so unique, their founder, Raymond P. Davis, wrote a book about it entitled, "Leading
For Growth." Charles' presentation provoked a great deal of audience interaction, as many were interested in learning more about
the different ways Umpqua handles customer interaction. There is always more than one way to face a challenge, and bringing
back new ideas is what this conference is all about!
2008 Vision Workshop
.....................
At the pre-conference Workshop, the WFG staff worked with users on building statement models via the internet.
We also spent time working with various service exceptions supported by CAA™. The much-anticipated new release
has clients anxious to implement and improve their bottom line.
CAA™'s Newest Features
...................
Version 3.06 of CAA™ is almost ready for general release! WFG is planning on
implementing the new release, in their own data center, at the end of October. All customers processed in WFG's hosted ASP environment
will soon be able to take advantage of the new 3.06 features.
CAA™ 3.06 now supports Dynamic Minimum Charge Additions, which means you can
automatically
charge a minimum amount for all services, by product family. The new system also supports Product Family Level Discounts so
there isn’t the need to build as many unit price exceptions. Family Level Pricing is also supported by the new version. In
addition to some of the new calculation features, the user interface has been updated to support:
- A New Print Screen Feature for all data screens
- Excel® Output for most grids or worksheets in the system
- More user-defined fields, editable labels / captions to help with intuitive understanding
- Excel output for several more of the standard reports
WFG Introduces CAA View 360™
...............
CAA View 360™ is a web based product that works with the data inside the CAA™ back
office system. The product is designed to help bank staff, including sales people and product management people. It is designed
to provide them with the power tools they need to effectively do their job. The system allows statement viewing for both the
preliminary period and also finalized / historical periods. The Statement Modeling tool can be used to build dynamic statement models for customer
proposals, or even the modeling of live account data.
The reporting tool contains a variety of views that allows bank staff to get the information
they need to develop action plans. The views include search tools for account variances / variances in product usage. Customer
trend views are available showing volume usage, revenue, and expense trend by months, quarters, and years. Profitability views zero
in on either products or accounts, or a mixture of the two.
As CAA View 360™ evolves, more and more information is going to be brought to the surface
and put into the hands of the people who need to know!
Did You Know?
.........................
Some of the features supported by CAA™ are not always obvious to the casual user.
Did you know that CAA™ can automatically not charge for any single service, based upon a balance limit
maintained by the customer? Let’s say you want to charge an account a maintenance fee for a small business product, if the account average
balance falls below $1,000. CAA™ allows you to set up a service type 7 which allows you to do this very thing!
Simply build a small tiered service (type 7) and set the 1st price at $15.00 and the upper limit to $1,000. The next tier would have a price of $0.00 and the
upper limit of $999,999,999. Any account using this service would be charged $15.00, if their average balance fell below $1,000. Since the
price is zero, it is not a waived charge, it is simply a NO CHARGE. It is that easy to do!
What’s The CAA™ Development Team Up To Now?
....
There is no rest for the CAA™ development team at WFG! Two new separately licensable components are being released in
the 1st quarter of 2009. The first is a bank wide re-pricing module which will allow banks to
test out their re-pricing plans before taking them live. This new tool will allow for side-by-side comparison of customers to see the
impact a bank re-pricing will have for bank customers.
The second is an Exception Handler inside
CAA View 360™, that will allow a bank to define what approvals specific changes require. The bank will be able to rank approvers,
so that specific changes can require a different number of approvals from different levels of staff! Are you ready to eliminate the phone
calls, emails, faxes, and paper approvals for sign-offs at your bank? All you need is our Exception Handling Workflow module.
For more information on these two separately licensed components, or to receive a copy of the WFG white paper describing the features in more detail,
please contact Bill Monsour, either by phone: 847.597.8156, or by email at: wam@weiland-wfg.com.
BSB Global Statement - An Update
.............
In our last newsletter we discussed the 15 global financial institutions that had publicly committed to offering the new, global BSB electronic statement.
Now six of them, Barclays, Danske Bank, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Westpac and BNP Paribas, are producing BSBs. As you may know, Weiland and GE have led the charge in creating the BSB standard. We are now working with the AFP, Paul Burstein
(formerly of GE), and a group of committed banks and corporates, to expand the AFP Service Code Set with a full range of international service codes.
Adoption of the BSB is gaining momentum. For more information, please visit the TWIST web page.
Vision Conference 2009
....................
It is never too early to plan ahead for next years CAA™ Users Conference. As the
old saying goes, “Fail to Plan?, then Plan to Fail”. You will be receiving a Save The Date postcard from us in the next few weeks, so you
can begin your planning. If you were with us this year, we know you’ll be back. If you were not with us this year, the time
to plan is now!
If you know someone else in your company
that should also be receiving these newsletters, please let us know.
